We are a network of Healers
The Free Woman Project is dedicated to empowering and supporting BIPOC women and girls who are survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), sexual abuse, incest, PTSD and grief, as well as the personnel who care for them including caseworkers, police officers, EMS and other caregivers.
Our mission is to provide transformative healing services and safe spaces where survivors and their supporters can find resilience and peace. Through holistic therapies, community support, and educational resources, we guide individuals on their journey of restoration, fostering healing and strength for all impacted by trauma, directly or indirectly.
We advocate for survivors
Our programs are facilitated by practitioners who use trauma-informed methods for healing. Our network of healers are also equipped to care for those who have experienced social and emotional trauma.
We offer services and programs with paid and free options. Our current free programs are group-based and virtually accessible.
our values
Our programs are designed to allow you space to break from the chains of trauma, enabling survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault to build a life defined by their own choices and aspirations.
Freedom
Integrity
Upholding the highest standards of integrity, The Free Woman ensures that all aid, education, and resources provided to survivors are delivered with care, respect, honesty, and a deep commitment to their well-being.
Self Empowerment
The Free Woman dedicates itself to nurturing self-empowerment among BIPOC women and girls, equipping them with the education, tools, and support needed to rebuild their lives with confidence and authenticity.
Racial Equity
Our commitment to racial equity, addressing the specific challenges and systemic disparities faced by BIPOC women and girls in accessing crucial resources for recovery from trauma.
Healing
The Free Woman prioritizes holistic healing, offering compassionate support and tailored healing strategies to help survivors of violence and trauma navigate their journey towards emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual recovery.
We Support in Accessible Ways
We are building a portfolio of programs that survivors can connect to with little to no cost to them. We strive to connect people with incredible care practitioners while offering low-barrier in-house programming.
Our network of healers is here to connect survivors with healing practitioners who are deeply aligned with our values. Finding care is hard enough in the traditional mental and physical health setting. This network helps people easily find supplemental support for their healing journeys.
Our Zoom Extravaganzas are an accessible way of providing group care services. Each zoom session is led by a trauma-informed practitioner who leads the group in exercises that come from the healing modalities they practice.
